Data Download in SAP personas - List- > Save

$

Hello Gurus,

I am having issues in data download in sap personas, it not behaving same as SAP GUI.

In sap gui - I go to - List -> Save -> File- > Text with tab.

I do the same in SAP Personas- the issue is the downloaded file.

I can change the file type to excel - but after downloading it all just comes in one column, which is not the same in SAP GUI.

Just wondering - how come SAP is behaving different in web gui.

I am on Personas 3, SPS2, SAP BASIS 7.4, 010.

Hi there,

I have the problem of lists, which are not completely shown and therefore I have to scroll (here in SE80 [entry Test Repository not shown]):

This happens in every (button) list of this kind (entry Runtime Repository missing):

Does anyone know why this is like it is and how to avoid it?

Java Client Mac - no inplace PDF display

$

Hi eveybody

we are having the following problem for a long time, support tickets to SAP not helpful, no solution yet.

we use Java Client for Mac 7.40r<doesnt matter which revision> and on the server side ERP6-EHP7 Patch 11 Unicode System

we use the Business Workplace to deal with invoices scanned into the system for further processing with the xFlow Third-party plugin.

In the Business Workplace and later on the Invoice Monitor of the xFlow part, attached PDF files are not displayed within the JAVA client.

Just a blank, white space, no error message.

it works without any problems with client 7.30r<any>, it does not work with any client 7.40

it works ok if we change the setting, so that attached PDF files are shown in a separate browser-window

but we need the inplace display again (as in v7.30).

we are mac-only-office, but for testing we also tried the Java Client v7.40 on Windows to be sure it's not just a Mac problem, same same, it does not work on the windows side either.

Anyone has seen this as well? anything we can check? so far nobody, incl. SAP support was able to help.

thanks and best regards

UK Personas Training Day - event report

$

0

Over the last few years I've spoken at numerous conferences and other events about SAP Screen Personas and our use of it here at the University of Warwick. At the start of all of these talks I always ask for a show of hands to see who has used, or even seen, Personas before. Most of the time, a large proportion of the audience has little or no knowledge of Personas and its capabilities. And most of the time those same people leave thinking this is a tool that could be useful and that they need to learn more about, and wondering why they've not heard about it before. Personas seems to be a well kept secret!

To try and fix that I've been wanting for a while to organise a "Personas Day", to give people the opportunity to learn much more about the product, and especially to get some hands-on experience of it. In my opinion Personas is best experienced by actually using it, and realising how quickly you can start building useful things with it. Thanks to the generosity of Peter Spielvogel and Tobias Queck, this finally happened on Tuesday of this week. Peter and Tobias took time out from a trip to the UK to come here to Warwick to support a UKISUGUser Experience Special Interest Group (UX SIG) meeting, and the following day to run a full day of hands-on Personas training. Think TechED hands-on, but running all day. We had a room of 40 people, a good mixture of people who'd used Personas 3 already, used Personas 2 before but not 3, and some who'd never touched Personas at all, all learning everything from basic screen editing to advanced scripting and using the newest Personas 3 SP03 features to turn SAPgui screens into Fiori-like screens.

IMG_20160628_102631.jpg

Some people, non-techies especially, found the advanced content a little tough, but all left understanding much more about what Personas can do, and with ideas for how to use it when they get back to the office. Some were determined to get it installed in their landscape and to continue learning.

A few comments:

"Just a quick note to say thank you for holding the Personas workshop day, yesterday Im quite new to SAP, but can see how new users to SAP would benefit from using Personas (as an ease-in to SAP and especially where they are occasional users of the system. So, very helpful and a lot covered on the course."

"A very good day.  I can see all sorts of potential for it, especially now we understand where Personas fits with Fiori and other options."

"Just wanted to thank you for all the hard work you put in to make the last couple of days such a success. I for one really appreciated the opportunity to kick start my Personas journey!"

"Thanks for having us today - enjoyed it, even if my brain did start frying towards the end"

I had an upper limit of 40 people in the training room, and had a waiting list of more than 10 people, so I'm going to have to look at organising a repeat event!

Thanks once again to Peter and Tobias for taking time out to support this, and to Holly Evans from the team here at Warwick for supporting me in organising the event.

Screen Personas 3.0: Embed transaction screen in a group control?

$

Hi,

I assume this is not possible but I would like to be sure with the community help. I think it could be a cool feature.

I would like to show a very simple transaction as a "popup" screen called from a button. Something like this:

1. The user is in transaction 1

2. The user clicks a button and a new popup (group control) is now visible.

3. The user enters the parameters and clicks submit button in this "popup"

4. The popup shows the result of the execution (error or success).

5. The user can now close the popup or go back to its selection screen.

Problematic development of Screen Personas 3.0 using SAP Transports

$

Hi,

I'm writing this in order to find out what should be the proper way to develop Screen Personas objects in a DEV environment without master data and then transport to Q&A and Production using ABAP transports.

The scenario is the following: Personas requires master data when we try to create flavors and scripts because we need to simulate user interaction in order to identify fields or generate action scripts. Our SAP development environment does not have any data (just something minimal), therefore we are not really able to reproduce most of the actions the user can do in production.

We have a secondary client with some data and also a quality environment with almost the same configuration than production. We can develop personas flavors there, yes, but then we are not able to add them to a transport because all transports are always created for the development environment with no data.

Given this situation, I tried the following:

  1. Develop in Quality environment or the DEV Client with some data
  2. Export flavors and other objects in a ZIP file
  3. Import ZIP file objects in the DEV environment
  4. Add the objects to a transport.

But after doing this, the objects become permanently locked for editing in any environment and client different than the one of the transport. I debugged the standard code myself and I could see that it determines the original system based in the last existing transport where the object ID is assigned. So once an object is linked to a transport, the original system will always be the one for the transport and then Personas does not allow to edit from a non-original system.

So here I´m now. I couldn't find a way to properly develop Personas screens and at the same time use the SAP Transport mechanism.

Anyone could help me? Maybe I'm missing something?

Regards,

Marçal

SAPGUI logged out automatically after certain time, Auto log-out

Dear All,

Here, we are using Demo Server and only 2 users are there in the system. Both the user's are get automatically logged-out after certain time (normally when the GUI is ideal for 8 min. then only it gets logged-out if user is working continually then it is working properly). Our demo server is hosted at the different place from our office.

This is the error when GUI is getting logged out.

GUI_error2.JPG

I have tried using to set some parameter values from rz10 but still facing the same issue.

Here, I have 4 instances and have changed the parameters in all 4 instances.

instance.JPG

Steps performed from rz10:

1> Setting parameters:

1) set parameter rdisp/gui_auto_logout = 3600 and 0

2)  set parameter rdisp/keepalive_timeout = 3600

3)  set parameter icm/server_port_0  =PROT=HTTP,PORT=8000,TIMEOUT=6000,PROCTIMEOUT=1500

2> After setting parameters RESTARTED the INSTANCE.

After setting the parameters i checked it 5 times but still facing the same issue.

Here, when i checked through OS level

- Logged in through RDP(Remote Connection) to the server.

- Opened GUI and it is working fine (Checked 3 times for 40 min.), when you login through RDP

Further, After doing some R & D i found that it is a network issue so i took help from my IT team for this issue.

They checked every possible option but found everything is ok and also able to ping the server.

Now, I am wondering what can we do next to resolve this issue, because we are facing this issue from last 1 week.

Please Help!!

Hemant

Screen Personas 3.0 SP03 Issue

Hello,

I installed the newest Support Package 3 for Screen Personas Release 3 in my SAP System.

SAP_BASIS 740_004 / SAP_Kernel 742_400.

Afterwards I want to start the Personas-Admin-Transaction but I get an ABAP Dump

Category              ABAP Programming Error
Runtime Errors        SYNTAX_ERROR
ABAP Program          /PERSONAS/CL_FLAVOR_CTRL_BASE=CP
Application Component  BC-PER
Date and Time          01.07.2016 09:15:25

During the presequently Actions (SAP Note Implementation) I got the following message...

Unbenannt.PNG

I checked the method /PERSONAS/CL_CUP_UTILS (using SE24). The Interface IF_S_USAGE_COLLECTOR is invalid.
Is this the reason why I cannot use the new SP? Is there anybody with the same problems?

Hi

I searched and i couldn't find anyone with this same issue.

Since I upgraded to 7.40 I noticed the following behavior:

When I'm in a pop up window and I press enter to validate a value the window flashes. disappears and appears in a split second.

This was something that didn't happen before in 7.3.

Downgraded to 7.3, stopped happening

Did a full uninstall and fresh  7.40 install, started happening

Tried in 2 different PCs and they have the same behavior.

Universal Clients for Accessing SAP Systems

SAP GUI is SAP's universal client for accessing SAP functionality in SAP applications such as - SAP ERP, SAP Business Suite (SAP CRM, SAP SCM and SAP PLM), SAP Business Intelligence and so on. SAP GUI functions like a browser. It gets information from the SAP server like what, where, when and how, to display contents in its window. All members of the SAP GUI family have unique attributes that make them especially suited for different user environments. SAP GUI comes in the following three different flavors:

SAP GUI for Windows
SAP GUI for Windows is an implementation especially designed for the Windows operating system, providing a Windows-like user experience and integration with other applications, based on OLE interfaces or ActiveX controls.

SAP GUI for the Java Environment

SAP GUI for the Java environment is a unified SAP frontend for multiple platforms. It is based on a platform-independent architecture and Java implementation. As a major benefit, it provides access to SAP applications that are based on Control-Enabling and therefore used to be reserved for Windows users in the past. Please, note that SAP GUI for Java is also available on Windows.

SAP GUI for HTML

SAP GUI for HTML automatically maps the screen elements in SAP transactions to HTML using HTML Business functions available within the SAP Internet Transaction Server. A web browser is sufficient to access almost all transactions. Please note: Since SAP GUI for HTML is an application running on the ITS, you find corresponding information on the ITS page.
You can find detailed information on the different SAP GUI types under the following links:

Strange happenings in SAP Personas 2 with black screens

$

Hi all,

A bit confusing this one so bear with me. we are on Sap Personas 2 Sp3 and several users are reporting that they are using the SAP Personas flavors that we have assigned them with no issues, then for no apparant reason, they perform an action that they have been doing all day, and the SAP Personas Flavor is not visible anymore, they are left with a black screen with the only thing visible being the flavor name. It also places a database lock on an employees record in PA30 (the flavor they use is based upon this transaction).

Now we are really struggling as to where to go with this, as it is intermittant, and does not always happen after certain actions are performed. The users get no error messages, no scripting messages either.

Has anyone got any clues as to where I could start looking?

thanks,

Ian
