SAP Press e-book on SAP Screen Personas now available
A few months ago, SAP Press reached out to the SAP Screen Personas team and asked if we would write an e-book on our product. They were launching a new book format called “E-Bites” which presents information on a specific task in a shorter, paper-free design. Since we are always looking for innovative ways to deliver content to our customers, we signed up.
The book focuses on how to simplify SAP transactions using SAP Screen Personas. While the information on how to streamline business processes and make users more productive applies to any line of business, we use several plant maintenance or enterprise asset management transactions for our examples. The transactions in the book include:
- List Purchase Order, transaction ME2W
- Create Service Notification, transaction IW51
- Display Purchase Order, transaction ME23N
- Display Cost Center, transaction KS03
We provide specific instructions on how to edit screens, merge tabs, write scripts, and deploy the new screens into your environment.

Expanding SAP window
When I expand my SAP window, the data on the page stays on the left half of the screen. I'd like it to expand and take up the width of the page when I maximize the window, instead of staying on the left half. I did an update today and lost that setting and can't figure out how to reset that.

Missing SEM Add-On in SAP GUI 7.40
We have already deployed our SAP GUI 7.40 to a couple thousand desktops and it turns out a few key Financial users require the SEM component to be added on after the fact.
I have tried using the Installation Sever and just create a package specifically for SEM. When I tested it I saw where the package is incomplete on the installation source. Is the source the Installation server? I really do not know what this means. My goal is to crate a package a handful of clients can pull from a web menu. I greatly appreciate some guidance.

SAPGui 7.40: How can I set the ABAP editor to "backend editor" mode?
Hello everyone,
I know the fancy colored frontend editor has become state-of-the-art (for those that are not already using Eclipse), but I am still using the old backend editor, mainly because it supports all the keyboard shortcuts that I have grown so used to (as well as automatic FORM generation upon doubleclick).
Recently I logged in with a test user, launched SE38 and opened the menu Utilities->Settings to set the editor type to "backend". However, the options there are now named "Source Code-Based Editor" and "Text-Based Editor" instead of what I remember to be "frontend editor" and "backend editor". I fail to set the editor to backend?!
However, with my main user, whom I set to "backend editor" in an earlier SAPGui release (it was 7.20) and upgraded to 7.40 later, the ABAP editor still works nicely in backend mode, meaning that SAPGui 7.40 still supports that mode. So where can I now access the setting when I want to change it for another user?

'Are you sure you want to leave this page?' Pop-up on Changing Portal Tabs
Hello folks,
On switching the Potal tab from Personas to another section, I get the following pop-up:
Is there a way I can get rid of this pop-up?
Also, upon clicking 'Stay on this page', Personas is logged out and re-logging in is required.
Additionally, skip-confirmation has been set to true in the configuration settings.
Any suggestions on getting rid of this pop-up?

SAP screen personas - Icon display issue
Hi Expert,
I have issue with display of icon features provided by SAP RDS file.
Issue with ICON in screen personas 3.0
We have successfully deployed the RDS file of SAP via the Link https://websmp205.sap-ag.de/rds-ui-personas
After Login to the system.
We are having all the flavor that has provided by SAP.
Now the issue is such that when I enter into the flavor.
When I click on ME41 flavor , The icon Home and Help does not set properly. As shown below.
But now if I come back or click on any other button there screen appears to be fine.
Can anyone please help me to understand what is missing?

SAP GUI740 UI xml distribute
Dear all,
I have trouble with SAPUILandscape.xml and SAPUILandscapeGlobal.xml distribution.
My steps:
1) I update GUI 730 to 740
2) Start 740 with old ini files(Old ini files sucessfuly migrate to SAPUILandscape.xml and SAPUILandscapeGlobal.xml)
3) I take this files and locate to central place. But change SAPUILandscape.xml

<Include index="0" url="\\CENTRAL_PLACE\SAPUILandscape.xml" />
</Includes>
4) Next i create registry key:
"On 64-bit Windows: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\SAP\SAPLogon\Options)
and the Expandable String Value (type of REG_EXPAND_SZ) "LandscapeFileOnServer""
5)Restart PC and start gui
But system list clear! Where mistake?Please help.

How to restore Favorites in SAP GUI

Actually i had requested for a password reset.
After they reset when i login i'm not able to find my favorites.

GUI 740 SP5 - registry entries ConfigFileOnServer disappearing

We just migrated SAPGui installation server to 7.40 Compilation 2 with GUI 7.4 SP5
In package installation settings we are using option to use central configuration file:
NwEngine.Shell.SetRegValue "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\SAP\SAPLogon\Options\ConfigFileOnServer", "REG_EXPAND_SZ", "\\server\SapLogonTree.xml"
NwEngine.Shell.SetRegValue "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\SAP\SAPLogon\Options\ConfigFileOnServer", "REG_EXPAND_SZ", "\\server\SapLogonTree.xml"
but those registry entries are existing only for day or two and next morning disappearing from users workstations.
I've already checked following notes:
2075150 - SAP Logon (Pad) 740: New format of configuration files as of SAP GUI for Windows 7.40
2220930 - How to enable SAP UI Landscape format for SAP GUI for Windows 7.40
but nothing matched ....
We are also using:
NwEngine.Shell.SetRegValue "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\SAP\SAPLogon\Options\SapguiNTCmdOpts","REG_SZ","/SUPPORTBIT_OFF=MAX_WSIZE"
NwEngine.Shell.SetRegValue "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\SAP\SAPLogon\Options\SapguiNTCmdOpts","REG_SZ","/SUPPORTBIT_OFF=MAX_WSIZE"
and those registry entries are always in place ....
Any hint how to trace this issue or resolve it ?

Personas 2.0 current date + xx days
Hello experts,
I have a "valid from" and a "valid to" field in one of my transactions. Using Personas, I was able to successfully set the current date on the valid from field (set current date MM/dd/yyyy for US format).
Now on the valid to field, I'm trying to get personas to automatically calculate current date + 90 days. For example, valid from = 11/20/2015. Valid to should be 02/13/2016 (current date + 90 days). I tried a few times using the examples from this link, but no luck.

Input field history
Dear all,

Are SAP Screen Personas flavors Transportable?
Dear Personas Guru,
How do you make Personas Flavors transportable across system? If there are Flavors created in a System /Instnace & those need to be mass ported over to New customer, is it possible... If yes , what is mechnisam>
Like we use BC sets to push configurations to new installation , is there a way to do it?

Personas 3: HtmlViewer adding html content
Hi all,
I am on Personas 3.
In SMEN transaction, I hid everything, created a button and a HtmlViewer control. I created a script with below code.
debugger; var html = "<p>Sample Text.</p>"; session.findById("wnd[0]/usr/htmlViewerPersonas_1447913779232").content = html;I call this script whenever a button is pressed and expected htmlviewer to show "Sample Text". Somehow it is not working. Can anyone help?
->In F12, I see that iframe's body is empty as well.
->I ensured that my code gets executed by putting a "debugger"

Create Custom Table in Personas 3.0 SP2
Hi,
I have read an article by Steve Rumsby on how to create script that simulates a custom table in Personas Creating a custom table in Personas but was wondering if anyone has been able to find a easier way of if any new functionality has been released to do this? I have look through all the obvious components but could not find anything. The only thing I would think of is perhaps use the HTML component to display a table from another screen?
I would like to access PP01, choose a lets say an org unit.. and bring back the results of lets say all the positions linked to the org unit back to the initial PP01 screen in the table it displays on when you view the positions.
Any creative ideas will be welcome otherwise I am going to try and do the table simulation option in the link above.

Protect IT-Supported Flavors from editing/modifying
Hi Experts,
we want our users to create their own flavors.
As far I am informed this is only possible if the role /personas/editor_role
was assinged.
Is it possible to restrict editing flavors on his own creations ?
Or at least can we protect our IT-supported flavors from modifying?

Personas 3.0: Back Button Issue
Hi all,
Currently running Personas 3.0 and have created a flavor for the article master. I have a tile set up in the Fiori launchpad to run this flavor. This works correctly and the user is presented with a screen to enter an article number. Once they have done this, they are taken to a second screen with the article details.
My issue is the back button does not behave as expected. When hitting back on the second screen, it should take them back to the first screen with the article number input but it instead takes them to transaction /personas/launch.
Strangely, the button works as expected if running the flavor from the webGUI without being launched from Fiori.
Has anyone come across this issue?
Edit-
I also get this issue if I run transaction from the webGUI and launch my flavor using its GUID. Instead of going back to the previous screen in the transaction the flavor is based on, it instead backs out to the flavor launcher. Not sure how to resolve this.
