Personas tablet demo at SAPPHIRE

If you are attending SAPPHIRE NOW, you can see SAP Screen Personas running on an Intel-powered tablet computer. This is really huge. You can carry a single device and have the convenience of a tablet with the power to run all your standard business applications, including SAP. And, you can personalize the screens using Personas so they look great on the tablet form factor.

Stop by the Intel booth (#3215) and ask for Kathy Barboza or Dave Miller. If you can't find them, call or text me.

Cheers,

Peter

Can I reconnect to a GUI session after network disconnection?

$

Hi,

I have the following scenario:

1. I have a SAP GUI (720) session open, e.g., transaction SE80.

2. My network connection/VPN goes down. The SAP GUI session terminates with the message:

"<SID>:connection to partner '<host>' broken..."

3. I fix my network connection and logon to SAP again

4. The dialog box "Lisence information.." gives me the option to keep other sessions

The question is if I can keep the old session (it shows in SM51) and reconnect to this, so that I can continue editing the screen I was working in?

Then I get "System Selection" screen where the system I have configured is listed on the left.

But when I click that it is not showing anything.

Window size inside SAP

Hi,

I'm only a year old in the SAP world, but quite a few more in the It world, and I'm wondering if there is possible to get more out of my 27" LCD when using SAP GUI? In 2013, it should be a easy way to scale a window so that you don't have to scroll in every direction.

Is there a smart solution here, or have you all just learned to live with it

SAP gui 730 problems on 4.6C/4.70 backends in se38/se80

$

Hi all gurus,

we're facing an odd behaviour on some older backend with the new sap GUI release.

Shortly: we are working in change mode, or even creating a new report or function module, from se38/se37.

If we cut & paste some lines of sourcecode, a syntax error is triggered when we check the code itself.

The check function often deletes portions of the source code itself, triggering syntax errors.

See the example that follows; after the foo variable declaration there WAS a function module call; I simply pressed the check button, and that's what I see.

test.PNG

We're dealing with these problems only with the new SAP GUI (720 works fine instead) and only on these backends (on an ECC 6.0 we don't have such problems).

Did anyone experience the same behaviour? Is there any feasible solution or workaround?

Another question... is it possible to have two different SAP GUI versions installed on the same machine?
Thanks in advance,

Best regards

Unable to connect to SAP GUI 7.30 after Java update 15 on Mac OS X 10.6

$

Hello,

I have been using 7.20 and after the automatic Java update 15 for Mac OS X 10.6 on April 16th, I have been unable to use SAP. I connect to my office network through VPN and then use SAP GUI to access my company's data. I have confirmed that the SAP syntax strings in expert mode are not wrong and this is 100% due to Java update 15. Since there was SAP GUI 7.30, I tried downloading that to see if it helps resolve the problem but that did not work either. So I tried installing SAP 7.30 in another mac which had the old Java before the update on April 16th and SAP works without any issues. I have spent more than an hour trying to see if there is a way to revert back to how my Mac was before the update but there is no proper way to uninstall or rollback to how it was before update was installed as I did not have Timemachine activated.

I am at a loss now and not sure how to deal with this, I have pasted the error screenshot below and would be grateful if someone could tell me how to fix this issue now. I've tried entering the SAP connection details saving it in a file and going to SAP Preferences and pointing it to the file under Logon configuration and that also did not work.

I sincerely will appreciate anyone who could help me with this. I did try searching if there were any other posts related to this before creating a new one and apologize if this is a duplicate on this issue.

Cannot log in to SAPgui 7.20 on Mac 10.6.8

Hi everybody,

I'm having a hard time configuring SAPgui connection on my Mac.

Description: Company

SID:cr7.

Application Server:122.175.34.175.

Instance number :21

I used conn=/H/122.175.34.175/S/3200 in expert mode and it connects, but then I cannot login to the system,

while it logins perfectly on Windows.

I tried as explained here http://scn.sap.com/thread/3236853,

1. I created a separate text file with "Company : conn=/H/122.175.34.175/S/3200" line in there

2. I made a full path reference to this file in SAP Preferences Configuration file.

But I'm not sure what I have to type in expert mode then? I type "conn=/H/122.175.34.175/S/3200" and it connects, but login still fails((...

Could you, please, help me?

Sincerely,

Simon Storozhenko

I have scripting enabled in the client and on the server. The souce of this code is from the forums, and may people seem to be able to make it work.

Here is what I have, and when I run it (With SAP Logon running in the background) it bombs out on line 3:

1  Set SapGui = GetObject("SAPGUI")
2  Set application = SapGui.GetScriptingEngine
3  Set connection = application.OpenConnection("MY_SID", True)
4  Set Session = connection.children(0)
5  session.findById("wnd[0]/usr/txtRSYST-BNAME").text = UNAME
6  session.findById("wnd[0]/usr/pwdRSYST-BCODE").text = PWORD
7  session.findById("wnd[0]").sendVKey 0

And the error is:

Hi all,

I'm having some problems with the silent install of SAP Gui 7.2

I run the program in a script like:

NWSAPSETUP.exe /silent /product="SAPGUI720"

This simply doesn't work. I've tried the /update , because I have situations with version 7.1 installed, and nothing.

In the manual it talks abaout using product = "SAPGUI710", but when I use this, it install version 7.1 ! :S

Very strange!

If I run  manually (SAPGUISETUP.exe), it installs correctly the 7.2 version.

I have working the scripts working for 7.1 and it is very strange that it doesn't work for 7.2...

Anybody knows a solution? What is missing me?

Other reports which are built on Multiprovider and Cube are running fine.

Kindly please help me in resolving this.

We are using GUI 720 & Office 2007 , This might be the issue?

Do we need to upgrade it to 730? My concern is its working fine for other reports.
